Joint Commission Accredited
The Joint Commission, the “gold standard” accrediting agency within the hospital industry nationwide, evaluates healthcare organizations’ performance in areas that most affect patient health and safety. Transylvania Regional Hospital and Transylvania Regional Hospital Home Care are both accredited by the Joint Commission.

American College of Radiology Accredited
The Mammography and Ultrasound departments at Transylvania Regional Hospital are both accredited by the American College of Radiology. The FDA has designated the American College of Radiology (ACR) as an accrediting body for both screen-film and full-field digital mammography units. This is the country's oldest and largest accrediting body for mammography. The Ultrasound Accreditation Program involves the acquisition of clinical images, submission of relevant physician reports corresponding to clinical images submitted, and quality control documentation.
Cardiac Rehabilitation Certifications
The Cardiac Rehabilitation program at Transylvania Regional Hospital holds two distinct certifications. The program is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, the national organization dedicated to the improvement in the quality of life for cardiopulmonary patients and their families. The second certification is by the North Carolina Department of DFS, which regulates medical facilities to ensure that people are safe, and that the care in these facilities is adequate.
Diabetes Education Certification
The Diabetes Education program at Transylvania Regional Hospital is certified by the American Diabetes Association, the nation's leading nonprofit health organization providing diabetes research, information and advocacy.
