Quality Report Card: Pneumonia Care
What does a measurement about pneumonia care tell me? Pneumonia is an infection of the lungs. At TRH, pneumonia is one of our top admitting diagnoses. We participate in a pneumonia care plan that is proven to produce the best outcomes for patients, and our compliance with this plan is one way to gauge the quality of care you can expect to receive when hospitalized.
Key:
| Better Than Average | Near or At Average | Below Average |
No Average Comparison or Too Few Cases | Leader in the Industry/Scores in Top 10% |
For pneumonia outcomes to be optimal, all of the following seven care steps should be followed by care providers. Compliance with these care paths is measured by most hospitals; therefore, comparisons with other hospitals are valid and reliable. The desired performance in each measure is “high,” meaning we are striving for the highest score possible (in this case, 100 percent compliance in each measure).
